The SkyBlue Gallery

Our Roots Run Deep, & Our Vision Reaches Wide

Sky Blue Gallery began as a dream—and nearly didn’t happen.

When we first found our home, we almost walked away because of the condition of the garage. It was rough, unfinished, and honestly didn’t seem usable. But something about it kept calling us back. We couldn’t shake the feeling that this space, despite its flaws, had purpose. So we took the leap, bought the house, and got to work.

Together, we transformed that garage with our own hands—adding insulation, putting up walls, and even building a custom closet and mobile art storage from scratch. What began as an empty shell is now Sky Blue Gallery, a labor of love built with vision, sweat, and relentless faith.

This space means everything to us. It’s more than a gallery—it’s our offering to the community. We created a place where people can not only view and purchase original Black art, but also feel something. A space to learn, connect, create, and grow. We host workshops, classes, and community events because we believe art should be accessible and rooted in the neighborhoods it comes from.

Welcome to Sky Blue Gallery. The doors are open. Come experience it with us.

The Journey

February 29, 2024

Purchased Our Home Together:

We launched our gallery right from our garage, starting on a leap day—February 29th—the day we bought our home. Definitely a lucky move!

Garage Gallery  Remodeling:

March 2024-February 2025

Over the following months, we tackled a variety of projects—from constructing walls and a closet to reorganizing storage areas and refreshing our fence and patio with a new mural.

Name Changed to SkyBlue Gallery:

March 21, 2025

After a powerful journey to Africa that deepened our connection to heritage, we renamed the space Sky Blue Gallery and painted the floors to symbolize the ocean our ancestors crossed from the motherland to America.
